This is a heat dissipation material widely used in modern heat dissipation. Most of the industry uses 6063 T5 high-quality aluminum. Its purity can reach more than 98%. Its heat conduction ability is strong, its density is low, and its price is low, so it has won the favor of major manufacturers. .
Based on the thermal resistance of Intel and AMD CPUs and the consideration of their fever, aluminum extrusion manufacturers formulate a responsive mold, heat the aluminum ingot to a certain temperature, change its physical shape, and then get it out of the mold. We have all kinds of heat sink raw materials we want, and then cut them, cut grooves, polish, deburr, clean, and surface treatment before they can be applied.
As far as the raw materials of aluminum extruded heat sinks are concerned, the heat conduction function of each material is different. According to the heat conduction function, they are arranged from high to low to distinguish silver, copper, aluminum, and steel. However, if silver is used as the heat sink, it will be too expensive, so the proposal is to choose copper. Of course, aluminum is much cheaper, but the significant thermal conductivity is not as good as copper (about 50% of copper).
Currently, the commonly used materials for extruded heat sinks of aluminum profiles are copper and aluminum alloys, each of which has its own advantages and disadvantages. Copper has good thermal conductivity, but it is more expensive, difficult to process, too heavy (many pure copper radiators have exceeded the CPU's restriction on weight), heat capacity is small, and easily oxidized. Pure aluminum is too soft to be used directly. The aluminum alloy used is capable of providing sufficient hardness. The advantage of aluminum alloy is its low price.
